Kenyans throng Huduma Centers to beat Saturday deadline

Business people Thursday had a field day selling copies of Huduma Namba forms following a shortage that sparked anxiety among Kenyans on last minute registration rush.

Long queues were observed in several Huduma Centres in Nairobi as residents sought to have themselves registered.

Security officials at City Square Huduma Center were seen telling Nairobians to seek the services elsewhere.

“Those seeking Huduma Namba registration should go elsewhere,” a security officer told people queuing outside City Square. Inside the building, several people stood looking stranded as queues moved at a snail pace.

On Thika Road, long queues were seen as early  a five in the morning on Thursday

Interior CS Fred Matiang’i had said Kenyans who don’t register will miss out on key government services such as applying for a passport, driving licence and many others.
