Eyebrow technology is on the rise in Kenya as women splurge money to get their eyebrows looking ‘natural.’
Microblading is a form of tattoo artistry where pigment is implanted under one’s skin with a manual handheld tool resembling a razor.
Microblading is a form of tattoo just less permanent than a real tattoo since the process is manual and less pigment is used, unlike a real tattoo. The entire process takes about an hour.
The artist makes tiny strokes mimicking the brow hair and draws them in the direction of their growth.
Since the procedure does cause scarring of the eyebrow, women are advised to wait for four weeks until the second and final session is done.
The procedure ranges from Sh22,000-Sh40,000 a session. Although not pocket-friendly, it does last up to two years depending on how fast or slow it fades out.
Women say microblading is a lifesaver since they don’t waste a lot of time drawing them in hence calling them ‘’eyebrows on fleek.’
