The almost complete Waiyaki Way-Red Hill link road to James Gichuru is a masterpiece, at least according to the Kenya Urban and Rural Roads Authority (KURA).
The beauty can be seen all the way from the International School of Kenya but motorists on Waiyaki are not a happy lot.
The users are complaining of heavy traffic jams at the junction near ABC place saying the road was not well integrated into the high way.
They are asking why there is no overpass or interchange connecting James Gichuru to Redhill link and longer acceleration and deceleration lanes connecting the Red Hill link to Waiyaki Way. They have taken to Twitter to express their frustration.
Although the effect has been regretable for Waiyaki way traffic. It has created a serious bottleneck at James Gichuru. What are the plans? https://t.co/R6FwVNpQ2s

Ummm, no guys. No. Integration into James Gichuru AND Waiyaki Way was appalling. Super short acceleration, deceleration lanes. An overpass would have been way, way better to manage traffic flow.

However, the works on James Gichuru-Rironi stretch on Waiyaki way are still ongoing hence an overpass or interchange may be in the plans.
Remember there is the James Gichuru to Rironi works underway where on completion there’s I’ll be an interchange. The solution to current mess is to remove that U-turn at ABC and take it further down near Medanta as this will clear that little mess.
