DPP opposes murder suspect ‘Jowie’s’ request to be released on bail

The DPP has opposed the bail review of murder suspect Joseph Irungu alias Jowie.

According to Director of Public Prosecutions, the bail should be rejected on the grounds that Irungu is a flight risk and could intimidate witnesses.

The ruling on Irungu’s bail application will take place on 18, June 2019.

Irungu was accused alongside Citizen TV journalist Jacque Maribe of murdering business woman Monica Kimani.

Maribe was released on bail as Justice Wakiaga said she was in no position to interfere with the ongoing investigations.

Monica’s murder case will be heard on June 18-27, 2019.
