Researchers have established that individuals who bite their nails have some traits that make them stand out.
Studies suggest that nail biters have a stronger immune system. This is because their body is constantly introduced to bacteria which in turn aids the body to learn and build defences.
Nail biters are perfectionists and are more intelligent than non-biters. The habit stems from stress which is caused by them being unable to relax and perform tasks at a normal pace.
They are prone to frustration, impatience, and dissatisfaction when they are unable to reach their goals.
Nail biters are however are at a greater risk of damaging their teeth as their teeth may shift out of their position, wear down and become weak due to continuous biting,
