NARC Kenya leader Martha Karua has termed Mike Sonko’s response to Esther Passaris as disrespectful and unethical.
When asked by a Twitter user what she thought about the debacle, Karua responded:
The former presidential candidate asked the Nairobi governor to apologise over his remarks.
The issue started when Passaris took to the podium during Madaraka Day celebrations held at Pumwani Police Grounds to admonish Sonko for allegedly not giving the green light to her projects and refusing to pick her calls.
Another issue raised by the Women Rep is the matter of handouts and graft, where she accused Sonko of focusing on issuing handouts instead of development.
In a rebuttal, Sonko lashed out at Passaris, telling her that he is a leader who loves to give and will not stop dishing out money.
He further told her that cannot pick her calls every time because he “is not her husband”. It was at this juncture that passaris walked out of the venue amidst jeers from the crowd.
This even as leaked audio clips between the two is starting to gain momentum online. In the clip, a woman alleged to be Passaris is asking Sonko for Sh500,000 that she wanted to use to visit Raila Odinga with.
The man alleged to be Sonko calls her back and tells her he transferred money to her account.
