Mutua asks leaders to explain the source of their cash

Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has asked Kenyan leaders and their families to explain the source of large amount of cash they will be exchanging.

Mutua also said it is not illegal to have small amounts of legally obtained cash at home.

He added that those who stored their small amount of money at home should be allowed to change them into small bills.

Kenyans who want to change more than Sh5 million to the new generation currency notes will also have to contact the central bank for endorsement of the conversion at any branch.
