A picture of a woman pushing a cart or “mkokoteni” in local Swahili has warmed the heart of a section of Kenyans on social media.
In the picture, a middle-aged woman is seen pushing the cart, loaded with jerrycans.
She is walking in what seems to be a busy street with a matatu on her right and a Toyota Prado behind her.
On the Facebook page Kenya Arising, most users complemented her hardwork with some urging the government to find a way of helping her. Others reprimanded government officials who loot money at the expense of common mwananchi.
On Twitter, some users congratulated her for making an effort while others stated that hustling is a normal phenomena and does not choose men or women.
