Deputy President William Ruto is the second Kenyan to receive the new generation banknotes.
The Governor of Central Bank of Kenya Patrick Njoroge (CBK) Thursday issued Ruto with the notes.
On his Twitter account, Ruto acknowledged the receipt of the banknotes, which he said has the historical serial number 2.
The CBK governor thanked Ruto for his support in the implementation of the New Generation Currency.
On Madaraka Day President Uhuru Kenyatta received the first new banknotes labelled AA0000001.
