Matiang’i gives Pangani Girls Ksh52 million

The Cabinet Secretary for Interior and Coordination of National Security, Dr Fred Matiang’i on Friday promised to give Pangani Girls Ksh52 million.

The Interior CS pledged Ksh50 million to be used for the development of the school infrastructure.

“The Education Permanent Secretary and Cabinet Secretary and all of us have agreed that we’ll contribute Ksh50 million to Pangani. Before the end of the financial year, the PS and CS will process it so that we can begin expanding the school,” Dr. Matiang’i said during Pangani Girl’s prize giving day.

The former Education CS, in partnership with the Inspector General of Police, Hillary Mutyambai also promised to give Pangani’s choir equipment worth Ksh500,000.

Dr Matiang’i, who was the Chief Guest at Pangani Girls’ Prize Giving Day, presented Ksh1 million during the event. The cash prize was a lunch gift from President Uhuru Kenyatta, who did not make it to the event as he is currently out of the country.

“He will {also} come and pay you a visit before the August holiday,” Matiang’i told the Pangani students.
