Radio Citizen’s Mohammed Juma dies

Veteran radio presenter and football commentator Mohammed Juma Njuguna is dead.

The legendary broadcaster passed on at Nairobi Hospital. Juma had been suffering from a long illness.

Juma was a content producer at Radio Citizen at the time of his death, a role he played from 2016.

According to Citizen TV, Juma joined Royal Media Services as a sports journalist in 1999 from KBC.

Juma will be remembered as the man who pioneered the English Premier League commentary in Kenya, something he did for over 40 years.

Retired President Mwai Kibaki recognized his impact in building Kenya football by awarding him with Head of State Commendation on March 10, 2010.

Citizen TV has also reported that Juma’s colleague have eulogized him as man who was cheerful due to his sense of humor in the office.

Sports presenter Carol Radull has eulogized Juma as a friend and a mentor.
