Muslims cycle to Mecca to perform Hajj, raise money for needy children

A team of Muslims referred to as #Pedaltohajj was on Sunday flagged at Al Furqan Towers in Park road to begin their cycling journey to Mecca.

According to Jamia Mosque, this is the first ever group in Kenya to undertake the roap trip.

Mecca in Saudi Arabia is regarded as the holiest city to Muslims.

These Muslims will be performing an Islamic ritual referred to as Hajj.

Hajj is an annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca that is a mandatory religious activity for Muslims.

Muslims must carry out the journey to Mecca at least once in their lifetime.

The group will cover a distance of 4,500km in a noble journey that will also be used to raise funds for needy children. The funds will go towards their education.
