Nandi Governor Stephen Sang has come out to oppose the charges leveled against him in court.
In a series of tweets, Sang explains how his accusers ‘got their facts wrong’.
He states that he has been accused of damaging property in the plot labelled LR Number 6075 while he has allegedly never set foot on it.
The plot label is LR Number 2/234 which, according to him, is held by Nandi County Government in trust of the community.
The county boss has vowed to continue with his fight against alleged land grabbers and has promised to regain the Kibwari Tea Estate.
Sang was charged with destruction of property, incitement to violence and abuse of office but was released on a Sh1 million bond.
Immediately after his release, he stopped to address his supporters who turned up in crowds, telling them that he had been arrested for protecting public property.
The case will be mentioned again on September 19, 2019.
