Leaders in the Rift Valley region have called on Internal Security CS Fred Matiang’i to restore the Kenya Police Reservists in various parts of North Rift hit by insecurity.
The leaders including Elgeyo-Marakwet County Governor Alex Tolgos, Deputy President William Ruto, Kipchumba Murkomen wanted the CS to reverse calls to disarm the KPR.
The leaders according to KTN TV said the disarmament had left residents exposed to attacks.
Many Kenyans have been killed in Elgeyo-Marakwet and West Pokot counties due to cattle rustling.
They spoke during the laying of the foundation stone for construction of a tuition block for Kondabilet Secondary School, the opening of classrooms and handing over a bus, in Marakwet West, Elgeyo Marakwet County.
