Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has added his voice on the person who Kenyans should choose as the next president of Kenya.
Speaking on Tuesday at a local radio station during an interview Mutua said that Kenya needs a president who understands economic issues like the former President Mwai Kibaki.
According to him the only way to grow an economy is growing opportunities for people to spend money by venturing into business. Encourage and support entrepreneurs to create jobs.
He added that the country needs new ideas that will help it grow economically. Mutua further questioned those in government seeking re-election to reconsider their steps and work in their various position to improve the lifestyle of Kenyans instead of seeking positions for selfish ambitions.
The Machakos governor said Kenya needs a president who will take care of the resources entrusted to him. The president needs to deal with corruption and stamp it out so as it gives the nation a platform to grow its economy.
Additionally, he said that the president should create a good environment for businesses to grow by giving business people incentives.
On the issue of investors, he said that the country needs someone who will bring in more investors. He pointed out that life for investors has been made difficult making it hard for them to invest in the country.
Mutua clearly pointed it out that as he even runs for the high office he will be doing that with the interest of the people at heart.
As I am even seeking for the presidency, I am not doing it for the sake of being a president but I want to transform this country. For a very long time we have been shortchanged as Kenyans,” said Mutua
