A new study by Ipsos Synovate shows that Kenyans believe Jubilee and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) are doomed.
According to the study, 60 percent of the respondents believe the cause of Jubilee’s death will be internal wrangles.
ODM also swings in the same fate with two third of the respondents believing the party is no longer strong as a result of its recent election defeat in Ugenya and Embakasi South.
Jubilee party is divided in Tangatanga and Kieleweke team. The Tanga tanga team is led by Deputy President William Ruto while the Kieleweke team has no specific leaders but is against Ruto’s presidential ambition.
On Sunday during the annual Akorino meeting, President Uhuru Kenyatta slammed DP Ruto’s Tanga tanga squad for ignoring his calls to stop 2022 politics.
“These thugs we have chosen are busy politicking, let them not think I am their small boy,” said Uhuru.
The Ipsos study also showed 80 percent of the respondents supported the handshake between Uhuru and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
The supporters of the handshake cited peace and tranquility as the main benefits.
However, 36 percent of the respondents said they have not witnessed any advantages of handshake in the country.
