Safaricom has introduced an interesting call characteristic referred to as the Reversed Call Feature.
This feature allows users to transfer call charges to the receiver enabling customers to pay for the calls of their loved ones.
HOW IT WORKS
- When calling your loved one or parent, you will just add # before the call number and the call charges will be transferred to the receiver. For example #0705***657
- The receiver will get the reverse call request in form of a voice prompt immediately they pick up the call. The receiver will be asked to press 1 in order to accept the charges.
- The charges incurred are the same as the normal changes even when someone would have called.
However, this call feature only works on on-net calls, that is Safaricom to Safaricom networks. It cannot be applicable on other networks.
The feature cannot also be used during roaming and international calls.
“This innovation will enhance the relationships between our customers with a goal of empowering them to always remain connected with their loved ones,” said Sylvia Mulinge, chief customer officer, Safaricom during the unveil.
