Kenya fishermen narrate how Ugandan policemen harass them

Kenya fishermen and fish traders have complained of harassment by Ugandan policemen who order them to carry luggage on their backs and force them to go up and down hills several times.

They also force them to eat raw fish, confiscate the boats, engines and fishing gears, the fishermen allege.

Some are charged in Ugandan courts where the law differs significantly from the Kenyan legal code.

The fishermen have faulted the government of Kenya for failing to resolve the boundary dispute between the two countries.
