DCI opens probe into KPLC postpaid fraud

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has begun investigations into allegations of fraud in Kenya Power.

According to the DCI, millions of shillings in KPLC billing system of postpaid were lost in a conspiracy.

The DCI said the conspiracy involved some of Kenya power staff, brokers and some KPLC customers.

The investigating body said almost 5000 customers benefitted. The DCI has ordered the suspected companies and people to appear before it for questioning.

Some of the notable companies include Nairobi Women Hospital, Safaricom Investments Co-op Society Limited, Kenya National Mills, Eldoret Polytechnic, and Moi University Campus.
