Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has warned Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua against harassing Machakos residents over petty issues.
Addressing Machakos residents on Thursday, Sonko said Mutua should respect the people of Machakos for electing him.
Sonko said that Mutua made a very big mistake by instructing Machakos County Government officers to arrest staff of Macha Beach Club.
The hotel belongs to Kalembe Ndile who also criticized Mutua.
This comes a day after Mutua pointed out the sorry state of statues of Kenya’s patriots along Kimathi Street and Moi Avenue.
He told them that, he will always come to their rescue whenever he feels they are being harassed.
He told the residents that they have a governor who does not care for their concerns.
“I promise you, I will be back here if the governor tries to harass you again. I have done it in Nairobi and nothing can prevent me from doing it at my home,” Sonko said.
The governor added that Mutua has made many projects in Machakos to stall, the likes of Konza City.
Sonko also asked that Uhuru be added three more years.
According to Sonko, he doesn’t have a grudge against Mutua, but he wants him to do things right.
