Are you a food lover and looking for a new recipe this weekend? Chicken biryani should be in the bucket list. It’s a flavored rice dish which is layered with spiced chicken and rice.
Biryani involves a lot of steps including marinating the meat, frying the vegetables for layering and coriander.
The ingredients include 1.5 kg of chicken, onions, tomatoes, tomato paste, spices (pilau masala, cardamon, ginger, garlic, chicken cubes, garam masala, curry powder), coriander, maziwa mala or natural yogurt, rice, food color, cooking oil, salt, potatoes, lime juice)
How to cook it
In a pan over medium heat, add cooking oil, fry garlic,
Partly crush the whole pilau mix, add it in the pan then add the marinated chicken. Let it fry quickly for 2 minutes, add tomatoes, tomato paste,
Add the potatoes, sprinkle fried onions on top and let cook while you add in the lime juice. Let it boil then cover. It should be on medium heat for about 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, measure 4 cups of water and add two cups of rice. Cover and cook until the rice is partly cooked. Drain the water. Sprinkle the diluted yellow food color and 2 tablespoons of the oil used to fry onions on the rice and cover.
Put it on low heat so that the rice can steam. Once it’s ready, serve it!
