The Kenya Film and Classification Board (KFCB) CEO, Ezekiel Mutua has refuted earlier claims that Disney’s Frozen 2 and Beauty and the Beast have homosexual content.
“The board has examined the films and found nothing offensive. We assure the public that both films have no homosexual themes or undertones as claimed and are fit for consumption by Kenyan children under Parental Guidance (PG) rating,” a statement from the KFCB CEO read.
CitizenGo started collecting signatures for a petition calling on Dr Mutua to ban all Disney content from screening in Kenya. The petition cited that Walt Disney’s cartoons were now propagating the homosexuality agenda.
“The Walt Disney Company has continued to produce pro-gay content which include Frozen, Beauty and the Beast which are about to be screened in the Kenyan leading Cinemas by IMAX. I ask you to ban any content by Disney in Kenya until the gay indoctrination stops,” the human activism group wrote.
However, the KFCB boss said the content in the two films did not promote any acts of homosexuality.
In May 2019, the high court upheld the anti-gay sex law (penal code 162 and 165) making the practising of gayism in Kenya illegal.
