State House Digital strategist Dennis Itumbi will remain in custody for five more days to give the police more time to complete their investigations.
He is being held at the Muthaiga police station.
The police said they are speaking to 256 members of a WhatsApp group called Tangatanga where Itumbi allegedly shared the Ruto’s fake assassination letter.
The prosecution had earlier requested the court to detain Itumbi for 14 days but Magistrate Zainabu Abdul said the period was too long.
Magistrate Abdul ruled that the case will be heard on July 10, 2019.
