Blogger Robert Alai has revealed details of his arrest by DCI detectives.
In a series of tweets, Alai alleges that his arrest had nothing to do with the terrorism charges that had been levelled against him.
Alai further claimed that current arrests are targetting Deputy President William Ruto’s aides.
He went on to strongly condemn the arrest of Dennis Itumbi.
According to the controversial blogger, detectives were more concerned about whether he kept in touch with individuals at the deputy president’s office than terrorism claims.
Alai says that a few weeks ago, DCI had sent a popular radio personality to convince him to help prosecute corruption cases through his blog but he turned down their request.
He has sharply criticized the government for allegedly using the Anti-terror Police Unit to play politics, further accusing the DCI of unfairly targetting DP Ruto’s office staff.
