Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru on Monday evening sacked all striking workers who had defied her orders to report back to work.
Waiguru has also hired new employees who will be posted to various county hospitals.
A Nairobi court on July 4, 2019 had ruled that Waiguru is allowed to take disciplinary action against them.
However, Mr Gor Goody, the Central region Kenya Medical Practitioners Pharmacists and Dentists Union secretary, had vowed to take the matter to the Court of Appeal.
The health officials stopped working in May citing poor working conditions, filthy health facilities and inadequate medical equipment.
Their long strike has for a while now paralysed the health services in Kirinyaga County.
