Kakamega Homeboyz striker Allan Wanga has said that he will no longer play for the national team because he is retiring from international football.
Wanga said that he is doing so to give an opportunity to upcoming players to showcase their talents as they represent the country on the international scene.
“For twelve years I have had the singular privilege to represent my country on the football pitch. It’s time for me to pave way for other players who I believe will embody the spirit of Harambee as I trust I did,” Wanga said.
He said he will now concentrate on playing for Kakamega Homeboys and focus on his job as a Sports Director for Kakamega County.
Until his retirement, Wanga made 44 appearances for Harambee Stars, scoring 22 goals within that time.
