Algeria coach Djamel Belmadi believes that his team is better placed to become the 2019 AFCON champions.
Speaking to the press on Sunday night after their game with Guinea, Belmadi said that they have learnt from the mistakes of big teams like Egypt and Morocco who have been eliminated from the tournament.
“Big teams elimination was a lesson to us not to miss concentration and motivation as we play in our remaining games,” said Belmadi.
Belmadi said that their consistency win will motivate his players to even play better and win.
The coach said that their dry spell in winning the title since 1990 will also motivate and propel them towards victory.
He added that the fans and government have given them the necessary support which is giving them confidence in the tournament.
The Algerian head coach boasted of having the best team with promising players.
To him, his team will always change the format of playing, to stay top of their game.
Algeria defeated Guinea 3-0 in the round of 16, booking a place in the quarter-final — either to play against Ivory Coast or Mali depending on who wins tonight.
Algeria has won all the four games they have played at the tournament without conceding a single goal.
