President Uhuru has hinted that the war against terrorism will be devolved to enhance the safety of the country.
Speaking during the opening of a counter-terrorism conference at the United Nations Headquarters in Gigiri, Nairobi on Wednesday Uhuru said the fight against terrorism has been devolved through the development of County Action Plans to counter and prevent violent extremism.
He added that every county will bring together security sector actors covering enforcement agencies, administrators, civil society and citizens to priorities collective counter-terrorism actions that are measurable and time-bound.
Uhuru said that students will be incorporated in the plan so that they are not radicalized and recruited in a bid to weaken terrorism.
The President said that measures will be put in place to rehabilitate and reintegrate those who reject terrorist ideologies.
