Former Gichugu MP Martha Karua has said that Kenyan women are being given a raw deal when it comes to leadership positions.
Karua said, despite the two-third gender rule being fronted to empower women, it has been overlooked when it comes to private and government appointments.
She said women leadership should be evident in boards, political parties’ nominations and civil service appointments.
“Let us appreciate the role of women leadership, which is to bring a balanced view of the country’s agenda in all sectors,” Karua said.
The former Gachugu MP, said by so doing it will lead to proportional representation in every sector.
