Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru is set to marry her lawyer lover Kamotho Waiganjo in a traditional Kikuyu wedding at Kiamugumo Primary School.
The couple is set to host 4,000 guests including politician friends.
Soon to be husband Kamotho Waiganjo paid dowry on February 16, in a private ceremony.
Unlike in the past when the couple denied relationship rumors, the two divorcees have been open about their relationship since their engagement in February.
The couple date their friendship ten years ago when they met in Mombasa on a ferry.
Waiganjo has represented Waiguru several times in court including the case where Martha Karua was challenging Waiguru’s win in the last general election.
Waiganjo was in Waiguru’s defense team together with Paul Nyamodi.
Waiguru now refers to be referred to her second name Mumbi dropping off Waiguru, her ex-husband’s name.
Their marriage has also sparked reactions with several quarters asking she will still remain eligible as Kirinyaga governor since their matrimonial home will be in Muranga.
Waiguru has however warned people from politicizing her marriage.
