Why you should not go to bed right after eating

Have you been wondering why you are adding weight suddenly? This is because you are eating some hours to bedtime and sleeping immediately according to The Sleep Advisor. Any food consumed needs an average of 6-8 hours to digest well. The body metabolism is said to switch to storing calories as fat, weight gain is simply caused by the unhealthy eating habits that often accompany bedtime snacking.

If you are the type that eats high calories snacks like cookies, sweets or chips when heading to sleep it will lead to body fat increase. It is advised you limit the intake of snacks and large meals when going to sleep to avoid weight gain.

 Evening meals eaten are meant to be eaten 2-3 hours before the bedtime and if you are up till late night, 4-5 hours have passed after eating the last big meal ate your last big meal, you can have a little snack. The snack should be something that can be digested immediately, for instance, a fruit.

Eating late-night tends to make one full and results in not having breakfast. This leads to overeating and eating unhealthy snacks during the day.
