Former TV Anchor Esther Arunga has been sentenced to 10 months in prison but immediately released on parole.
In a ruling that may come as a reprieve to her and her loved ones, the 38-year-old was meant to spend 10 months behind bars but was immediately freed on parole by Queensland court judge Martins Burns. This is according to the Australian Associated Press.
Earlier this week, Arunga had confessed having lied to the Australian police about the incidents surrounding the death of her son Sinclair Timberlake.
She retracted her earlier story of the 3-year-old boy, having fallen down the stairs as the cause of his death.
She later said she lied because she wanted to protect her husband Quincy Timberlake form harsh punishment.
She admitted that she found Quincy hitting her son in the stomach and throwing him against the wall, claiming that he had demons inside him.
She was accused of being an accessory to murder in a case that saw her son die as a result of blunt force trauma to his abdomen
