Those who have appealed for the activists to be released on bail have been shut down on the basis that the arrests are ‘orders from above’.

The 12 include Wilfred Olal, Gacheke Gachihi, Faith Kasina, Chindy Kennedy, Timothy Sindigo, Edwin Odhiambo, Calvin Shikuku, Davis Luchuru, Esther N., Rose, Leila Umar and another unidentified person.

According to Kondele Community Social Justice Centre, the 12 activists from Dandora, Kayole and Mathare have not been formally charged.
