Bob Collymore’s boys club is set to fulfill the deceased’s promise to President Uhuru Kenyatta by shipping the special drink that had been promised to the head of state.
Former Gatanga legislator Peter Kenneth made the revelation that the squad had managed to find the bottle and it will be shipped from Amsterdam, Netherlands and presented to President Kenyatta.
Kenneth was speaking during a memorial service for his late mother Rahab Wambui Muhuni at his home in Loresho.
According to The Star Newspaper, the bottle has been identified as Number 138 of Johnie Walker Directors Blend and costs sh460,000.
The drink which was released in 2010, is packaged in a 700ml bottle and has an alcohol percentage of 49 percent.
President Kenyatta made the revelation that the late Safaricom boss had promised him the bottle when he visited him during his last days at his home in Kitisuru.
“I was supposed to have gone back to collect my gift reserved for a special friend from Bob and so Peter Kenneth, Oigara and crew, you will pay. That did not belong to you,” said Uhuru amidst laughter from the audience.
Bob Collymore’s boys club consists of prominent media personality Jeff Koinange, businessman Ally Khan Satchu, Radio Africa Group CEO Patrick Quarcoo, politician Peter Kenneth, Scangroup CEO Bharat Thakrar, British High Commissioner Nic Hailey, Kenya Commercial Bank CEO Joshua Oigara and MD Standard Chartered Bank Lagos, Lamin Manjang.
