The Third Way Alliance Party leader Ekuru Aukot was Wednesday orienting members of the Nakuru County Assembly on the Punguza Mizigo Bill.
The Bill got 1.2 million signatures and county assemblies are set to start debating it.
According to the Third Way Alliance Party, other counties that have received the Punguza Mizigo Bill are Isiolo and Turkana.
The 47 county assemblies are expected to have received and debated the bill within the next three months. However, the bill will only succeed if it gets support from 24 of the county assemblies.
If approved by 24 county assemblies and the national assembly, the draft bill will become law. If one of the assemblies disapproves it, the bill will be taken for a referendum.
Some of the major propositions contained in the bill include reduction of the members of parliament seats from 416 to 147.
It also seeks to increase the counties’ revenue allocation budget from 15 percent to 35 percent of the national budget.
