Dani Ceballos has hinted on why he decided to join Arsenal from Real Madrid on a one-year loan deal.
The player said that Arsenal’s right-back, Hector Bellerin, played a major role in convincing him to join the Gunners.
“I get on well with Hector away from football, on a personal level. I told him I was thinking of joining Arsenal and he told me not to think twice because this is a great city and a great club and that I was going to have a great time,” said Ceballos.
He added that he wanted to work under Arsenal’s Spanish manager, Unai Emery, who had shown a lot of confidence in him.
“The coach was the turning point in terms of me joining this massive club, he knows me from my time at other clubs,” he added.
He also revealed that he wanted to be fielded more frequently, an opportunity he rarely got at Real Madrid.
Tottenham was seeking the signature of the player, who says he opted to join Arsenal to get the company of his fellow Spanish players Nacho Monreal and Hector Bellerin.
The former Real Madrid player becomes the second signing for Arsenal following the arrival of winger Gabriel Martinelli to the club this summer.
