Boris Johnson, the new prime minister of the United Kingdom, might strike people as an unconventional leader but his personal life is even more strange.
During his first address to the nation, Mr Boris stood alone on the steps of No.10 Downing Street, breaking tradition as former prime ministers stand with their wives and kids.
Mr Johnson has a colorful personal life and is divorced from his wife of 25 years Marina Wheeler. They have four kids together and their fallout was because of his many extramarital affairs and kids out of wedlock.
Standing on the far end during his initial address was a tall blond named Carrie Symonds, who is Boris Johnson’s girlfriend. She is a 31-year-old former Conservative party communications official. They have a 24-year gap between them.
She is also an environmental activist. These are uncharted waters for the British establishment — never in living memory has a UK prime minister had an unmarried partner while in office.
