Aman captured on viral video cutting a man accused of stealing a chicken has been arrested in Shinyalu, Kakamega.

Confirming the arrest, the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti said that the man was arrested alongside three other suspects hours after the incident.

Mr Francis Muse Liseche alias Moi was arrested alongside Evans Lichoti Ashihundu, Agapitus Ingosi Ang’uswa and Reuben Smith Shitambasi.

Muse has been known to harm thieves in the village according to Shinyalu residents.

“Whenever someone is caught stealing, he is always called to punish him,” said the residents.

Kinoti said the four suspects will be arraigned in court on Monday over murder charges.

DCI warned the public against taking the law into their hands, saying that Kenya upholds the rule of law.

“We urge members of the public not to take the law into their own hands, we should refuse to be a heartless society and know that the purpose of law in a society is to regulate human behaviour,” said Kinoti.

He added that the public to not to spectate a crime that puts human life under threat.

The alleged suspect succumbed from severe panga cuts.
