Things you may not know about Prophet Owuor

Self-proclaimed prophet David Owour is known to many for his crusades that attract people from all walks of life.

He is also known for his alleged healing of people with terminal illnesses and even raising of the ‘dead’.

Whoownskenya claims that in 2017, Prophet Owuor raised a woman by the name Mama Rosa Rotirakori from the dead. She told The Nairobian, “I was to be buried today, but I thank the Mighty Prophet Owuor for interceding for me. His prayers brought me back to life.”

However, in January 22, 2019, Mama Rosa died for real.

Not much is known about Prophet Owuor, but here are a few things that you may not know about him.

  1. He has a PhD in genetics

Prophet Owuor attained a PhD in Molecular Genetics (Science of the Future) at Ben Gurion University of the Negev in Israel.

He also has a masters and bachelors degree in genetics and science respectively from the University of Nairobi.

2. He was a lecturer at some point

According to whoownsKenya.com Prophet Owuor was a lecturer at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.

He even went ahead to do research on the genesis of a tumour at the university’s cancer center.

3. Visions caused him to quit his job

Prophet Owuor once told the Nairobian that he received visions in the form of dreams from God to become a preacher for almost three years. So in 2003, he decided to quit his job and answer what he was as God’s call.

4. He doesn’t accept donations/ offering

Prophet Owuor does not accept any donations or offering from his congregants. He once told Hivisasa that it is not right for men and women of God to ask for material things. However, Owuor accepts tithing as it is a requirement in the Bible.

5. He is not on social media

Prophet Owuor is not on any social media platform such as Facebook, Twitter or Linked In.

6. He sired a child in Israel

While Owuor was studying in Israel, he sired a son with a certain lady. He would have married the lady but when he moved to the US, the lady refused to move with him.

AnswersAfrica.com also notes that Owuor cohabited with a lady in the US but after he started seeing visions, the lady left.

So for now, Prophet Owuor does not have a family.

7. Valued at Sh2.5 billion

Who owns Kenya website values Prophet Owuor’s assets at Sh2.5 billion.

8. He owns a radio station

Prophet Owuor has a radio station called Jesus is Lord Radio which broadcasts the prophet’s sermons and streams them live from Nakuru.
