Where to buy ‘cheap’ land in Nairobi in 2019

Property consulting firm HassConsult has released Land Price Index report for the first quarter of this year, indicating that Nairobi has become the best place to have land as an investment option.

The report shows that a good number of areas in Nairobi that were selling land expensively have decided to lower their prices to attract more buyers.

Areas, where one can buy land cheaply within Nairobi according to Sakina Hassanali, Head of Development, Consulting and Research at Hass Consult, are Karen, Runda, Langata, Kitisuru, Loresho, Ridgeways, Donholm and Nyari.

Here are the rates at which land is sold per acre in Kshs in the listed areas.

Karen – 60.9 million
Donholm – 70.3 million
Langata – 63.3 million
Kitisuru – 87.6 million
Loresho – 90 million
Ridgeways – 76.8 million
Runda – 87 million
Nyari – 100.5 million.

Loresho, Ridgeways, Kitisuru, Gigiri and Langata are the areas where demand for land is high, with prices rising from 4.9 per cent to 9.95 per cent last year.

Karen is one of the areas where land is sold at a high rate because of the rate of advertisement which accounts for 31.5 per cent of the land advertised for sale in Nairobi.
