There are hopes for cheaper electricity bills as Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen) injects 79 megawatts into the electricity grid.

To boost energy production, KenGen has diversified the production of energy ranging from geothermal, wind and thermal.

With exploiting all the possible energy production resource, it has helped the company to build more capacity hence high energy production.

Olkaria V plant will help the company increase its geothermal power generation capacity to 849 MW which is close to the highest producing plant in Italy that produces 944 MW.

The addition of geothermal power is aimed at relieving Kenyans from the burden of paying extra for their electricity bills and attracting more investors.
