The first half of the year has seen some of the most iconic sneakers released by shoe companies. Although it is hard to rank the best sneakers in the middle of the year, we tried and came up with a pretty good list of new releases that we felt had the most unique designs.
- Air Jordan x Travis Scott 1 ‘Cactus Jack’
This surprise sneakers that were released after Travis Scott’ Grammy performance have been widely acclaimed by reviewers as top quality shoes. Iconic for their backward Nike swoosh and a hidden pocket.
2. New Balance 1500 ‘Sample Lab’
New Balance has a reputation for understatement, but these “Sample Lab” 1500s are proof that the brand knows how to make a splash, too.
3. Air Jordan 4 ‘Bred’
Originally released in 1989, this OG design reboot is still as fresh as when it first debuted.
4. Nike Air Max 1 ‘Susan’ missing link
Created for the upcoming missing link film, this colourful patterned sneakers are inspired by the show’s main character Mr link with his costume.
5. Nike BB Adapt
This futuristic looking sneaker was released this year. It is power lacing shoe that’s built for basketball and first inspired a future vision of footwear according to Nike. It has an app where you can customize the fit and features of the shoe.
6. Air Jordan 6 ‘Infrared’
The blacked-out “Infrared” version of the Air Jordan 6 has been retroed a few times since its release in 1991. This version combines that retro feel with new sneaker technology.
7. Adidas x Overkill ZX 10,000C ‘I Can If I Want’
This special edition Adidas produced to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the 1000s series was made in collaboration with Germany’s sneaker boutique Overkill.
