The wife to the late Ken Okoth has spoken of how the two met and how Ken was an industrious leader.
“I have known Ken for 21 years and I met him at Austria University. As much as he was the only African, he became the student leader and the voice for all of us,” said Monica.
Monica Okoth also said the two had a wonderful relationship and that they were best friends who traveled to many parts of the world together.
“I am truly privileged to have known Ken Okoth and we were truly best friends. There is nothing we did not know about each other and nothing we had not forgiven each other for,” said Monica.
Monica also said the suffering of Ken Okoth for the last two years when he had colorectal cancer saddened her.
“When people would ask him why a good person like him had cancer, he would tell them ‘why not me’,” Monica said.
She was speaking on Wednesday at the late Ken Okoth’s memorial service in Starehe Boys Centre.
She thanked everyone for their love, concern and condolences during this hard time in her life.
