Study ties green tea to lower risk of colorectal cancer

Green tea originated in China and has been used for over a thousand years. It is made from Camellia sinensis leaves and buds that have not undergone withering and oxidation process. This beverage contains nutrients and minerals which make it healthier.

There are certain facts of green tea which have been reported by the Medical News Today which include; it is the traditional medicine used in China and India to control bleeding and heal wounds, helps prevent a range of diseases including cancer. There are different types of green tea.

Studies have shown the beverage has several health benefits which include;

Increase fat burning and improve physical importance

Any green tea has a fat burning supplement that helps in burning fat and increase metabolism. The polyphenol found in green tea intensifies the levels of fat oxidation and the rate your body turns food into calories.

The Health Line reported that some studies on green tea do not show an increase in metabolism, it depends on an individual.

Lowers risk of cancer

The types of cancers that have been reported to lower include breast, prostate and colorectal. An analysis of observational studies found that women who drank green tea had a 20-30 percent lower risk of developing breast cancer.

Another study found that men drinking green tea had a 48 percent lower risk of developing prostate cancer.

An analysis of 29 studies reported that those drinking green tea were up to 42 percent less likely to develop colorectal cancer.

Helps you lose weight and lowers risk of obesity

The loss of weight comes in because it is known to burn fat. A study reported that when you have a consistent 12-week controlled trial of consuming green tea there is a decrease in body fat percentage, weight, and the abdominal area.
