Popular Kenyan journalist Tony Mochama has been awarded Sh9 million after winning a sexual harassment case levelled against him by two women.
Delivering the ruling on Monday, Magistrate Addah Obura said there was no compelling evidence to implicate the accused in the sexual harassment case and he should be awarded Sh9 million in damages.
“There is no compelling evidence to show that Tony Mochama molested or sexually assaulted the two women namely, Shalja Patel and Prof Wambui Mwangi,” said Obura.
The judge also asked the Mochama’s accusers to apologise to him within 14 days.
In 2014, Shalja Patel and Prof Wambui Mwangi accused Mochama of sexually harassing them on September 20, 2014, during a lunch meeting at Prof Mwangi home.
