Five arrested for stealing flour worth Sh2m in Makuyu

Police have arrested five people for stealing 387 bales of flour worth Sh2 million from a maize mill in Murang‘a County.

Confirming the arrests, Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Director, George Kinoti said the five were arrested after stealing from Cornstar Maize Millers in Makuyu.

“They will be taken to court once the police are through with their investigations,” said Kinoti on DCI twitter handle.

The five suspects were arrested on Tuesday in Utawala and Thome Estates in Nairobi.

The police managed to recover 387 bales of Cornstar flour and other assorted items from the suspects.

Earlier on, three other suspects were arrested and charged in court in connection to the robbery.
