A woman on Tuesday was forced to give birth inside a taxi in Nairobi CBD after her labor pains became intense before she could reach the hospital.
The woman was at her work place in a financial institution when she started experiencing labor.
A taxi was ordered for her but halfway through the journey her condition worsened forcing her colleague who had accompanied her to ask the driver to stop the car.
The driver went to call for help as well-wishers, women and nurses surrounded the car covering it with lessos to give the woman privacy as she gave birth.
After she had given birth, medics from Meridian Hospital who were alerted by the driver arrived at the scene.
The medics took the mother and her baby to Meridian Hospital where they were given first aid before being transferred to Nairobi West Hospital.
