Africa’s largest Android event goes down in Nairobi

A two-day android developers event is currently running in Nairobi having started on Thursday.

The event highlights Nairobi’s rising significance in technology and innovation.

Droidcon is a worldwide conference focused on the engineering of Android applications.

Droidcon Kenya provides a forum for developers to network with other developers, share techniques, announce apps and products, and to learn and teach.

This two-day gathering will continue and end tomorrow. Kenya has one of the highest concentration of technology hubs in Africa behind South Africa and Nigeria.

Kenya also gets the third highest investor funding for startups on the continent.

There were workshops and codelabs focused on the building of Android applications and participants had an excellent chance to learn about the local Android development ecosystem.

Some of the presentations that went down today include, application testing where developers were taken through various means of testing their code.

Another one was about using various programming languages such as Flutter to build solutions and working with open source solutions among many others.
