Kenya Sevens rugby players Alex Olaba and Frank Wanyama have been found guilty of gang-rape by a court in Nairobi.
The victim, a singer, had posted a detailed account of how the two took advantage of her on her.
She alleged that the incident happened at Highrise estate in Nairobi on February 10 2018, which was the day she was celebrating her birthday.
The accuser told the court that the two men raped her overnight, resulting to her pregnancy. She further accused one of the players of issuing threats, warning her against going public with the story.
The Director of Public Prosecution ordered their arrest and they were charged with gang rape.
Olaba and Wanyama, however, denied the accusations levelled against them, stating that they knew their accuser and were with her on the material day but they did not rape her.
They pleaded not guilty to the charges before Chief Magistrate Francis Andanyi and were released on a cash bail of sh 500,000 each in August 2018.
They will be sentenced on Friday, August 9.
