Israel-based NGO called ‘Good Deeds Day Global Organization’ has partnered with Kenya in a bid to find a permanent cure for cancer.
Announcing the NGO partnership on Sunday, Kenya’s Good Deeds Ambassador, Mike Sonko said the organisation brought a technology which treats cancer by freezing cancer cells using a special device.
Kenya will sponsor at least seven doctors to Israel to be trained on how to use the devices before importing the devices and installing them in different public hospitals,
In a bid to support the programme, Sonko promised to sponsor 10 patients from an equal number of sub-counties in Nairobi to Israel.
“To pilot the technology, I will sponsor ten cancer patients from Nairobi to Israel as a case study,” said Sonko.
According to Sonko, the devices will complement cancer screening machines installed in various hospitals in Kenya.
The governor expressed his hope of having a permanent solution to the cancer menace in Kenya.
